Alpine Golf & Sports Club Special

Alpine Golf & Sports Club is the best golf course in Bangkok with respect to golf layout. The venue for the Johnnie Walker Classic in 2000 and 2003, the course is kept immaculate with particular attention paid to the greens which now rate as amongst the best in Asia. This is a surprisingly hilly layout that requites precision golf to score successfully. While not easy, this course is a real pleasure to play. The Clubhouse, management, staff and caddies are excellent.

Amata Spring Country Club Special

located just 50 minutes from Bangkok towards Pattaya. Always in excellent shape, the club features an island green unique to Asia in as much as it moves and players must be transported by a quick ferry ride to play their second shot if they are lucky enough to reach the green. Speaking of greens, Amata Spring sports some of the best in Asia and a very enjoyable layout. This is truly a world class facility and the clubhouse, management, staff and caddies all live up to that reputation.

Bangkok Golf Club

Bangkok Golf Club is located about 45 minutes from the city center of Bangkok. This course has become one of the most popular among Bangkok's international community and regularly plays host to local and regional tournaments. Both the 1st and the 10th holes offer challenging starts to what is an interesting layout which has been re-designed over the years. Conditions are normally pretty good for a course that has so many rounds played on it Night golf is available. The Clubhouse is showing some wear and tear but offers all amenities.

The Bangpoo Golf & Sports course offers exciting challenges as it takes full advantage of the natural rolling terrain, towering trees and lush vegetation. Cascata Golf Club was open only a couple of years ago but has gained in popularity for those wanted to take the rather long journey from Bangkok to the Clubr. The course is still maturing but offers a fair challenge non-the-less. The complementary country-side atmosphere adds to the pleasure of playing. The distance from Bangkok is a bit longer than other good courses but a worthwhile experience.

Green Valley Country Club

Green Valley County Club is situated in the countryside just beyond the Suvanabhumi Airport and benefits from many mature trees and shrubs surrounding the layout. Fairways give many sloping lies and many of the greens are hidden behind huge mounds. Clever placement of bunkers adds to the difficulties of this very exacting course. The club house is only average though and while there is an adequate amount of caddies at the club, their training seems to be only average in comparison to clubs charging similar rates.

Lakewood Country Club

Aptly named, the course comprises 'Lake', 'Wood' and 'Rock' nines. The relatively flat terrain is enhanced buy a profusion of flowers and shrubs. Water features on twenty-two of the twenty-seven holes and there are perhaps more dog-leg holes at Lakewood than any other course in Thailand. It is the clever use of water which makes so many holes play as dog-leg, particularly from the teeing ground. At the seventh hole on the 'Wood' nine, most players will opt to play their tee shot well left, in order to avoid the huge lateral water hazard which streches right across the fairway.

Lam Luk Ka Country Club

Lam Luk Ka Country Club boosts two exceptionally well-designed 18-hole layouts with great ambiance, lots of water-hazards, wide fairways and big greens. Fairways are lined with mature trees and there is a great deal more shade than many of the other, newer courses in the area. Might be a little further out than others from Bangkok but worth it. The caddies are excellent and very helpful and know the layouts well and each girl will assist in every way to help you get a good round of golf. The clubhouse is excellent.

Lotus Valley Golf Resort was opened only last year and has gained in popularity for those wanted to take the rather long journey from Bangkok to the Club. The course is still maturing but offers a fair challenge none-the-less. The complementary country-side atmosphere adds to the pleasure of playing. The clubhouse and facilities are first class and the course if very playable for golfers of all skill level. This is a good addition to an extended golf holiday in Thailand.

Muang Kaew Golf Club

Muang Kaew Golf Club is located just south of the city and now in excellent condition having undergone extensive upgrading over the last couple of years. The back nine is quite challenging and offers exceptionally well designed holes starting from the 13th through the 16th hole. The caddies are well trained and know the girls know the greens very well and including this course in your golf holiday in Thailand will not be disappointing. The clubhouse is very functional. The course is located near Suvarnabhumi Airport and worth a play prior to departure from Bangkok.
